BMW announced its new concept car. The i8 Spyder is a plug-in hybrid with 350-hp. It definitely looks like a concept car and the interior is beautiful, but I really don’t like the look of it. It’s like BMW was trying too hard to make it look futuristic. It seems forced. Apparently they gave it an 96 kW electric motor tied to a 223-hp turbocharged three cylinder engine. Holy shit. Do you know what that will sound like? An RC car. I just don’t understand why you’d make a hybrid sports car…
I was right about it sounding absolutely whimpy. Watch the video. Maybe they can loop a track of a Lotus Elise S1 accelerating for the driver to hear instead.
